I wanted to dedicate a blog post to ropes alone. There was such a selection of ropes to choose from near Skinnygrove beach, including a mixture of old and warn and then more new.
The style of these particular shots is pretty traditional. I was thinking it would be interesting to sell them as stock images online if websites would be interested – watch this space!
Not all the rope images are completely traditional. I had taken an image on a life float, found in an old boat. It had been taken in an uncharacteristic way, using old debris around it and damaged materials.
While out and about we saw some really unusual cattle. They were brown, with long fluffy hair. When we walked passed where they were grazing we noticed loads of hair balls stuck to the barbed wire!
Also just as I was getting in the car, a woman walked out with this large group of different kinds of dogs. I thought it was quite comical, as I could see there was such a selection of different breeds.
I was lucky to get this shot of the dogs, because it was a quick moment before she walked off into the distance. I used auto colour in Photoshop to remove the colour tint from the car window. This worked well in my opinion; you can’t really tell it was taken from inside of a car.
Here is a mixture of abstract and miscellaneous shots from my Easter Monday photography trip. I produced quite a lot of photos of boats and experimented with dof/macro.
We first went as a group to Pinchinthorpe and had a walk around. Although the weather that morning wasn’t brilliant, we still had fun. We went to the cafe and had a wander.
I’ve been to Skinnygrove once or twice now and love it! Particularly the textures and debris found around the seafront area. I like having a look around the old sheds, so many interesting things to photograph!
Easter has come around so fast, but luckily I finished my Easter Cards well in advance. These are the last of the Easter cards to blog.
I made a selection of cards at different prices. Blogged previously I made smaller 75p cards for my Mums friends. The cards here are a little more expensive, for close family members.
Two of these cards I made at Creative Crafts using a template and the other I made at home using my photography work as a centre piece on the card.

I thought I would blog post an event I went to based in Saltburn. There have been a couple of vintage fairs run in Saltburn. The first event was held at Profile gallery and I did some event photography work for this. The link to this blog post is here.
This time the event was held in the community hall. I was impressed with the different pieces available to buy. Since going to the vintage fairs, I have developed a love for all things vintage.
I think my personal taste in clothes has altered; I have a vintage edge to some of the things I buy. I saw a couple of nice dresses and bags etc at the fair too.
I liked the community spirit of the event and I bumped into lots of different people I had met previously at the fair or through Profile Gallery.
I was a bit disappointed I didn’t get any photographs on this occasion, I’m normally snap snap snap but the hall was quite compact/too busy and felt developing my networking skills instead may be a of use.

I was delighted to receive a explore award on Flickr on the 12th March. I’ve included the image in the blog post so you can all have a little look at which image was chosen.
I took the image in my own garden about a couple of days before I posted it up. It’s quite an abstract image but you might be able to work out it’s of a washing line, facing up to the sky.
I got a fair few comments on the image before I was awarded it, but not masses. I don’t know a great deal about Explore, obviously I’ve only been awarded one image in explore.
I think the way they chose images is by a computer system, measuring things like view counts and comments.
Unfortunately I was pretty annoyed with Explore when they for some reason took my image of March 12th explore. I looked up on the forums why that might have happened and I found other people too have had images taken off.
I think the explore bit of Flickr constantly updates and unfortunately my image was taken off for whatever reason. I tried not to take it personally and in all fairness the selection seems quite random!!

Here is a selection of greeting cards I made for Mothers Day. I’ve already blogged one of the Mothers day cards here. I made four cards altogether, for various family members who asked me to make a card for them.
For my brother and I, I made cards using recycled materials. I used pastel shades, including blue and pink. The designs are fairly simple, and didn’t take that long to make.
I made more deluxe cards for my grandparents which my parents bought off me to give. The card I’ve blogged here was for my Grandma. I included my photography work on it, and framed with copper card. I liked the colour combo; I chose duck yellow for the backdrop.
