Profile Gallery: The Puppy Visit

During my placement at profile gallery, a friend of the gallery came in with his new puppy. It was so cute and could not resist taking a few snaps of her.

These images tie in quite nicely with my pet and owner portrait idea that I’ve begun developing since my first portfolio meeting with Mark at Profile.

Becky who also works at profile was besotted with the puppy; I got some great shots of her with the puppy also.

Profile Gallery: Abstract Photography

These set of photographs, took while at profile, all have an abstract feel to them. I would consider them more art than documentary. These images did not really fit into any other category but all had quite a unique idea that not necessarily related to profile gallery.

My particular favourites from this set include the steam shot and the cutlery images. I like these ones because overall they appear quite clean looking and I love working with reflections.

Profile Gallery Event: Stuarts Photography Taster Course

During my stay at profile on placement I was invited to a taster course which was held on the Monday evening. We concentrated on panning and shutter speed to capture movement.

I got lots of tips and felt inspired to try out panning and capturing movement on my camera in my own time. Stuart took us outside in Saltburn centre to practice what we had learnt and then we were able to view the images we took on a projector.

Mark at profile had also asked me to document some of the people who came for the class. These are my images, including a mixture of panning and documentary photography.

Profile Beauty and The Bicycle Exhibition

As part of my placement at profile, I was also asked to document one of latest exhibitions being put up. I noticed there is a lot of work put into the exhibition set up, lots of measuring and DIY too!

Here are my shots from the day. I have to stay this exhibition was one of my favourites at profile gallery. The photography was really interesting and vibrant and I liked the story that was told about how in the UK girls reaching teen years tend not to use bicycles as much as other parts of the world.
