A week or so ago I went to Saltburn to shoot some more photography. I wanted to visit the time and tide exhibition on Saltburn pier and had some spare time so went to take some photographs also. The exhibition was really interesting, the artists name was Lawrence Giles. He had gone around beaches, photographing piers.
I went with a photography friend to see the exhibition and then we also did some photographic work. There was a fair bit going on, on the beach that day and the tide was really out which made good images also.

This week our local vicar Rachel took me to St Cuthbert’s in Wilton Village. I was very impressed with the church surroundings, very hidden away and beautiful with lots of wonderful photogenic opportunities. I thoroughly enjoyed looking round and taking pictures, I was also took inside the church too. The building is old and has lots of stories.
Rachel mentioned that some of the photographs I had taken might be able to be used, I hope this happens. Anyway these are my best of the bunch, I hope you like them!
Just recently someone told me about MyPaint, a free art program available to download online. After using it for ten minutes I was completely addicted!
Do you ever remember ‘paint’? Well MyPaint is a bit like paint but much more advanced. You could say it’s a bit of a combination between paint and Adobe Photoshop.
On MyPaint there are lots of effects, brushes etc and there are much brushes you can download too! I’ve blogged my best art work from the program. I must admit I added some effects on Photoshop afterwards though. MyPaint supports jpegs so moving images from MyPaint to PhotoShop it much easier!

Just recently I’ve been more experimental with my card designs. I want to try new things and possible attract a younger more current market with the cards I make. These designs I have mixed more unusual colour combinations and added my own art work to the designs.
I think recycling is a very good technique to use also, because it’s cheap and accessible. With this in mind, I did a couple of vintage style cards, using floral and also much older used cards.

This is the second time I have been involved with the photography for the messy church event. Messy church involves younger children and guardians to get involved in arts and crafts. There was a range of projects; this month, we did pebble painting, sweet making etc
I did a range of different shots, both of the families and art work produced. Unfortunately I did not have permission to use images of people’s faces and because of this I tried to create shots which told a story in alternative ways.
I decided it was worth blogging the work I do for messy church. Here are some of the images from the event....
