I decided to spontaneously take pictures because it started raining. I was hoping the sun would come out so I could take pictures of Bentley, next doors dog in the garden! Plan B – Take some ‘seasonal’ pictures of the bad weather!

Creative workshops inspiration from another blog - www.book-by-its-cover.com
I found this blog (book-by-its-cover) though web surfing. I stumbled across an interesting article that I thought was rather cool. They had documented a craft session located in New York City Library, Manhattan. I enjoyed looking at the pictures; they are so fun and creative.
Through my Graphic Design degree, I have done some similar workshops like this and I’ve gained much inspiration from them. I think being creative can often be about letting go and not worrying about appearing stupid.
A couple of examples of my own experiences include, drawing with my eyes closed, making an invention in a team working exercise and also games I’ve personally come up with for themed birthday parties such as designing a fashion accessory or decorating a chocolate plaque!
I’m hoping to get on a placement with the BBC to create and organise creative workshops for youths so started doing a little research on what sort of similar events have been going on! Please let me know of your experiences with creative workshops/activities or general related ideas!

Today I’ve been looking through other similar themed blogs to mine, looking for inspiration and networking. I found www.creaturecomfortsblog.com through web surfing and was really glad I found it! There are some really neat things if you flick through the pages. For example there are ideas and links to all sorts of creative projects. I had loads of fun browsing and will defiantly visit again!

Stepper Cards Update
I’ve been working more on the stepper cards which I had been making at the craft night class. My friend Emma wanted at Christmas card designing for her with a border collie on it so I’ve decided to post it on my blog as I’m pleased with how it turned out.
I made a couple of other cards also, which are Christmas themed! I’ve decided I might make Christmas card packs and sell them. I’ve already done some Disney ones which look quite attractive. I will keep you posted on my progress!
Bright and Bold – More art I’ve been working on!
These images were originated from garden photography; I was looking for quirky shots and I got some really interesting ideas from being outside. I particularly liked using reflections from windows and garden related objects, for example the watering can.
I uploaded my pictures and starting adding colour in different ways. For example I drew on top of the photography and also used a coloured background and used blending modes to merge it with the original photography! I’m quite pleased with the effect, retro meets modern!
